How To Clear Phlegm From Throat

Review / Vanquish

Since the videogame production has moved west, to tell the truth we're all soft. We think Shinji Mikami to wake up from slumber with a third-person shooter pump adrenaline without ever pausing

Vanquish
Developer:
Platinum Games Publisher: Sega
Distributor: Halifax
Genre: Action
Platform: PlayStation 3 (available for Xbox 360 )
Related Titles: Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360); Bayonetta (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) Devil May Cry 4 (PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)

Stylish

In total contrast with the trend of modern video games to complicate - not to be confused with depth - the game mechanics, Vanquish takes the easy way. The game structure is reminiscent of a mixture of old 2D platform game, and for the amount of projectiles and the skill required to avoid even the classic shoot'em up, where the story except as a secondary role in favor of velocirà action and frenzy that captures the attention of the player. At first glance, a title on the thickness of a sheet of paper that there are stereotypes, Vanquish turn your gaming experience to the subtleties of the gameplay without seeking additional frills.

The protagonist is Sam Gideon - the typical hero on thirty who is not afraid of the danger - but his armor, which allows changes on the battlefield truly spectacular. First, it can send in a supersonic glide the player for several tens of meters, making it possible to avoid enemy fire while you spread bullets at 360 degrees with the flick of the analog stick. Pulling the trigger back in a slip, it slows down the time and focus the weaknesses of the most powerful opponents to rage with greater precision. Or you can take a moment to pause - to light a cigarette in the face of devastating explosions on the screen - while it hides behind one of the many shells scattered in the arena of play.

Everything here, a third-person action title with covers a fairly diverse arsenal of upgradeable, evasive moves and crazy, needless to say, a touch of bullet time. A few gears, this is true, but oiled to perfection: there is a fluid game, fast and furious as Vanquish or just as stylish. The bosses impress with size and variety, and often contain the best of the Vanquish has to offer. The concentration is all the action, aided by the enviable precision control and the knowledge that only the skill and reflexes will be able to save our skin. Like any Japanese title for the hardcore audience - try the Hard God mode - Vanquish puts a strain on the nerves, but the difficulty is hardly poorly calibrated.

Without a remarkable story and, unfortunately, the real reason to take up after completing it, the latest work by Shinji Mikami is likely to go unnoticed in much of the public, including evidence of accomplices queue after arriving less than eight hours of play (even five, if you are very skilled). Rare commodity these days, the nucleus contains all the feeling of "Made in Japan - immediacy, frenzy, style - that characterized the '90s and applaud with great joy in this new form.

Pros: fast, fast-paced, stylish, huge bosses, simple gameplay and captivating
Replay Value: low. Once completed you just have to prove himself with new problems or challenge the scores
Cons: story is minimal, the characters uninteresting, and very short
In Summary: Vanquish is a summary of extreme action video game, unparalleled in terms of speed and style
